100% organic herbs of Lungwort (herb), Sage (leaf), Thyme (leaf), Aniseed (seed) and Licorice (root).

Lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis): Lungwort is used for respiratory complaints such as cough, colds, sore throats, asthma, bronchitis and hoarseness of the throat. It has also been used to treat whooping cough.

Sage (Salvia officinalis): Sage is used for inflammation and ulcers of the mouth, gums and throat. It has anti-microbial properties and has constituents that protect against damage of our cell walls. Sage is a tonic, astringent and expectorant.

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris): Thyme has a way of softening and loosening coughs to help the body to release phlegm. It also has a potent anti-microbial effect which speeds the resolution of infections in the lungs. Thyme is used for ulcers or infections in the mouth and throat, is a powerful anti-septic, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal, destroying germs in the atmosphere and the body.

Aniseed (Pimpinella anisum): Aniseed is used for coughs and colds. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, recommended Aniseed to help clear mucus from the respiratory system. It is a medicine used in hard, dry coughs where expectoration (discharge of phlegm) is difficult. Aniseed has a beneficial action on the bronchial tubes, for bronchitis and spasmodic asthma. It has also been used to ease whooping cough in infants.

Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra): Licorice root is used for dry cough, hoarseness of the throat, wheezing and shortness of breath. It nourishes the adrenal glands, stimulates immune cells and helps fight disease causing bacteria and fungi, as well as stimulating the body’s anti-viral functions.

Care should be taken when drinking sage during pregnancy and lactation, as it may interfere with breast milk production.

Licorice Root may increase blood pressure and is contra-indicated for people with issues related to high blood pressure.

Please consult your health practitioner prior to drinking this tea if this may apply to you.
