This tea helps to manage hormonal symptoms such as PMS and menopause, including hot flushes. It is energising, influences hormonal reactions, balances and gives you back control in your life.
One heaped teaspoon (2g) per cup of boiling water. Steep covered for 10-20mins. Drink 2-4 cups daily until hormones balance, then 1 cup daily for maintenance.
Organic herbs of Sage (leaf), Withania (root), Chaste Tree (fruit), Oat Straw (herb), Red Clover (flower), Rosehips (fruit) with Raspberries (fruit – non-organic).
Sage: (Salvia officinalis) Sage is used for excess heat during menopause and helps with excess sweating, especially at night. Sage is also used to reduce breast milk production.
Withania: (Withania somnifera), is aslo known as Ashwaganda or Indian Ginseng. Withania is a powerful herb used for improving blood cell health including iron levels, improving stress modulation and sleep.
Chaste Tree: (Vitex agnus-castus) is also called monks pepper due to it’s ability to curb sexual desire in men. Chaste Tree helps with pre-menstrual symptoms, to establish a health menstrual cycle and reduces mid-cycle bleeding. It is used to improve fertility, treat severe and cystic acne and also with insomnia. Chaste Tree increases progesterone levels, which influence stress hormones, cortisol and adrenalin.
Oat Straw: (Avena sativa) Oat straw heals osteoporosis, mends bones, relieves cramps and strengthens teeth. It stimulates the release of luteinizing hormone which stimulate cell growth and so bone building capacity. Oat straw’s high calcium and mineral content also promotes bone strength.
Red Clover: (Trifolium patense) Red Clover acts like the female hormone oestrogen and may help hormonal imbalances such as during menopause. Red Clover is also used for bone health, as an anti-spasmodic and anti-inflammatory.
Rosehips: (Rosa canina) Rose hips are high in vitamin C, isoflavanoids and also the source of iron, which is greatly beneficial for menstruating women.
Raspberries: (Rubus idaeus) Raspberries play an important role in lowering oxidative stress and reducing inflammation in the body.
Care should be taken when drinking sage during pregnancy and lactation, as it may interfere with breast milk production.
